The LDM mission is to bring persons who have mental impairments into the Church. Although this is our primary focus, many of the people we serve have multiple disabilities, i.e. site or hearing impaired or other physical disabilities. Most of the people served in our programs would be considered to have moderate to high functioning ability.
Due to accessibility of facilities, it is necessary to restrict the Handycamp program to individuals that are ambulatory. However, LDM is working to improve the facilities used for Handycamp and plans to include people using wheelchairs in the near future.
It is a goal of this ministry to start programs that serve youth who have mental impairments as well. If we are unable to offer you a program due to age, stay in touch and pray with us. God willing, we will soon provide services to younger people.
